La Rambla, Barcelona

La Rambla is a street in central Barcelona, popular with both tourists and locals alike. A 1.2 kilometer-long tree-lined pedestrian mall between Barri Gòtic and El Raval, it connects Plaça Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus monument at Port Vell. (...) (from Wikipedia).
The broad and leafy avenue of La Rambla has the reputation of the place to be in Barcelona. Unfortunately, that reputation’s a little out of date. Years of tourists have clicked and stared their way along here a few too many times, rather removing that sense of je ne sais quoi. It’s still an interesting place to visit, though, and you’ll still find performing artists, florists and streetwise entrepreneurs.
