Domme is a commune in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in south-western France. It is sometimes called the 'Akropolis des Périgord'. (...) (from Wikipedia).
The village of Domme represents the image of the Dordogne. Spectacular views across the river and countryside, preserved rugged architecture, survival against the onslaught of the English and plenty of good food and wine. Don’t expect to have the place to yourself, however. With popularity comes plenty of tourists.

Day 1 Park wherever you can in Domme and then head uphill to reach the town. Domme is small and compact, so enjoy wandering through the narrow streets without a plan. Follow the crowds to the Esplanade du Belvédère and the Promenade de la Barre for spectacular panoramic views across the Dordogne. To extend the views over dinner, visit Le Belvedere Restaurant and then walk off the rich French food by visiting the Halles. Finally, drive from Domme to Sarlat to spend the evening there.
