Saint-Paul or Saint-Paul de Vence is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. As one of the oldest medieval towns in the French Riviera, it is well-known from its modern and contemporary art museums and galleries such as Fondation Maeght which is located near Saint-Paul de (...).(From Wikipedia).

St-Paul-de-Vence, a tiny village perched high on the hills, almost aches with picturesque scenes. Yet, as in many places across France, its panoramic views developed not out of an appreciation for nature but out of the town’s need to defend itself (in this case from the Saracen pirates.) Although St Paul gets crowded in the summer, its warren of cobbled streets and network of handicraft shops still make it a worthwhile daytrip from Nice.
