Located next to the visitor center of Teddy Roosevelt National Park, at the park entrance, is one of Theodore Roosevelt's log cabins.
The Maltese Cross Cabin, was Teddy Roosevelt's first cabin in the Dakota Territory. He was here in 1883. He spent a lot of time here after his wife and mother died, but in 1885, he relocated to the Elkhorn Ranch, where he built another cabin.
Today, it is a museum that's open to visitors.
When we were there, there was a tour group inside. I don't even remember, if we went inside, or if it can only be visited by tour, but it's worth checking out, if you're in Medora. Directions: Right next to the park visitor center in Medora.
