| Day 1 Day 8: Durango - Silverton - San Juan Mountains (Rocky Mountains)
Main attractions are the
wild west towns of Durango and Silverton (except February departure). We highly
recommend an optional ride on the Durango & Silverton steam train dating
back to gold rush days of 1882 that takes you from historic Durango's lively
downtown to Silverton, a peaceful mountain village in the San Juan mountains.
In the later afternoon you are invited to relax at a swim at nearby natural
mineral hot springs. |
| Day 2 Day 9: Durango - Mesa Verde National Park - 4-Corners Monument - Bluff
Today, we participate at a
ranger led climb into the ancient cliff dwellings of Native Americans at Mesa
Verde National Monument. Then, we stop at the Four-Corners-Monument where you
can stand at the intersection of 4 states, munch on fry bred and find
great-priced Native American art. The evening and night we stay in or near the
town of Bluff, Utah. |
