Omiš is a city and port in the Dalmatia region of Croatia, and is a municipality in the Split-Dalmatia County. The city is situated approximately 25 km (16 miles) south-east of Croatia's second largest city, Split.(...) (from Wikipedia).

Enjoying a scenic spot where the ice blue waters of the Cetina River spill from the rugged Cetina Gorge and join the Adriatic, this old pirate and Venetian stronghold boasts a compact Old Town and the Mirabella and Fortica fortresses, with rafting trips also available in the gorge.

Day 29: 9th August (Croatia)
Long drive back to the coast (planning to do a daytrip to Mostar if we can but quickest route is still via the coast road). Stopped to buy figs and watermelon- absolutely fleeced! Couldn't find a good spot to jump into the sea for a swim. Pulled into a large layby to have some lunch. Little man selling wine got cross and asked us to leave. Bought some wine from him - fleeced again! Wine undrinkable - like vinegar.
Very hot. Booked Autocamp Sirena on the phone - turned up - no booking. Everywhere full so they took pity on us and let us park up by the wall on the road through the site. Access straight onto beach and into the sea- lovely spot if we had a proper pitch! Had a swim at the cove and watched the blood red moon rise. Met a couple in a British Moho - travelling with small children - wife Bosnian - highly recommended Mostar and Camping Solitudo in Dubrvonik.
